A bear and a human were buried together 80,000 years ago

The Regourdou cave is a prehistoric site located in Périgord, near Lascaux. A human burial and that of a brown bear were unearthed there in 1965 under the same slab, dated to 80,000 years before our era. This arrangement led some researchers to see it as the first sanctuary of a hypothetical bear cult.
