The Cité du Cinéma was primarily funded by public money

The Cité du Cinéma is a vast studio complex founded by Luc Besson in Saint-Denis. Its initial cost of 140 million euros was covered up to 130 million by the Caisse des dépôts et consignations, while the company Europacorp only paid six million. The Cour des comptes subsequently sent a report to the parquet national financier as early as 2013.
