Philippe Bouvard was baptized in secret for his wedding

Philippe Bouvard married Colette Sauvage on October 31, 1953 in Le Vésinet. He concealed his Jewish origins and was baptized secretly to be able to celebrate this union, with the cartoonist Piem as his godfather. His wife discovered this truth later, while she was pregnant with their daughter Dominique born in 1954.
