The Sandalwood is an Indonesian pony breed lacking an official genealogical registry. Its racing sires are chosen according to subjective customary traditions based on lineage, coat, and lip shape. A 2015 decree from the Ministry of Agriculture also delimited specific zones for the development of this breeding on the island of Sumba.
