The birth of Brazilian samba rock

Samba rock is a musical genre and dance that appeared in Brazil at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. This creation results from the mix between traditional samba rhythms and the musicality of American black music, notably rock, funk, and soul. Artists like Jorge Ben Jor and Trio Mocotó contributed to popularizing this style across the country under different names depending on the cities.
