Thirty years without a Lille player in the French national team

Adil Rami is the first LOSC player called up to the French national team since 1980. This long drought ended in August 2010 during a friendly match against Norway, where he started directly as a starter. He then quickly formed the central defensive pair for Les Bleus alongside AS Roma player Philippe Mexès, playing eleven of the twelve matches of the season.
