A football final played during a violent thunderstorm in 1949

The 1949 Alsace Football Cup final took place in hellish weather conditions. On May 29, 1949, at the Meinau stadium, Sports réunis Colmar faced CS Pierrots Vauban from Strasbourg under torrential rain and a violent thunderstorm. The Colmariens finally won the match with a score of one to zero thanks to a goal scored in the 22nd minute by Fillinger in front of 1,500 spectators.
