An Italian princess was buried in Gaul in the 5th century BC

A princely tomb discovered in the Cher housed the remains of a woman of northern Italian descent cremated in the 5th century BC. This burial site on the route de Dun contained gold ornaments and pendants characteristic of the Golasecca culture. The analysis of the funerary goods suggests she was the wife of a local warlord from the elite of the Bituriges Cubii.
