A nursery rhyme inspired the music for Pennywise the clown

Benjamin Wallfisch is the composer of the soundtrack for the film It (2017) directed by Andrés Muschietti. To design the second musical theme for Pennywise the clown, he drew inspiration from the old children's song Oranges and Lemons. He also incorporated fragments of this melody in a subtle way into the piano pieces that open and close the feature film.
