Ryan Gosling learned the piano in three months for La La Land

Ryan Gosling was unable to play the piano when he was chosen to play the character of Sebastian in La La Land. He took intensive lessons during the three months preceding the filming to acquire the necessary technique. His progress was such that no double was ultimately used for the shots showing his hands on the keyboard.
