Vakhtang V became one of the most influential political figures in Persia while reigning over Georgia. This prominent position was established by historians such as Kalistrat Salia, who ranked him behind the Shah and his vizier. This influence allowed the Georgian upper class to establish itself durably at the court of Isfahan under the Bagrationi of Mukhrani dynasty.
