A municipal dispute drives the bagadoù out of Brest

The national bagadoù championship is a Breton music competition organized every year since 1949. The event settled permanently in Brest in 1953 to remain there for seventeen consecutive years. A dispute with the city hall pushed the organizers to move the event to Lorient starting in 1971.
