Bagadoù owe their model to Scottish bagpipes

The bagad finds its origins in an organization inspired by Scottish musician groups. In 1947, the founder Polig Monjarret attends a performance by the City Police Pipe Band of Glasgow during a Sao Breiz congress. This musical performance makes a strong impression on him and dictates the future structure he gives to traditional Breton ensembles.
