A beach undergoes ten years of erosion in two days

The Fox's Bay beach in Montserrat retreated by 20 meters in August 1995 following Hurricane Luis. This spectacular retreat represents normally ten years of erosion for the site, the island then undergoing the accumulation of natural disasters. The area had already been hit by Cyclone Hugo a few years earlier before the awakening of the Soufrière volcano.
