The Cagots built the framework of Notre-Dame de Paris

The Cagots were a rejected and despised population who nevertheless excelled in woodworking and construction. In the 13th century, some of them from Béarn were entrusted with the creation of the framework of Notre-Dame de Paris. They also participated in the construction of many other historical monuments such as the Château de Pau.
