Patrick Dewaere acted as if his life depended on it

Patrick Dewaere was a French actor who performed from a very young age pushed by his family. During the filming of the movie Is Paris Burning? in 1966, he was however only a simple extra and not credited in the credits. The assistant to director René Clément, Yves Boisset, noticed him then throwing himself from the back of a truck after a simulated machine-gun attack.
