Gérard Saint beats Jacques Anquetil's record

Gérard Saint is a cyclist who beat the time record set by Jacques Anquetil on the same course in 1954. He completed the distance in 2 h 3 min 41 s, thus shaving several minutes off the performance achieved in 1951 by his illustrious elder. This remarkable performance prompted the newspaper Paris Normandie to state that the young rider was certainly of the same caliber as him.
