A European opera performed in five countries at the same time

The opera St Kilda: A European Opera is a work in Scottish Gaelic created to raise public awareness of the fragility of human societies. Funded by the Scottish government and designed by Lew Bogdan, it is directly inspired by the history of the archipelago. It was performed simultaneously in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Scotland on the summer solstice of 2007.
