A sheep thief exiled on an inhospitable islet

Soay houses a primitive shelter named Taigh Dugan, consisting of a hole dug under a large stone. Its origin dates back to the arrival of two brothers who came from Lewis to cause trouble. One of them, Dugan, was exiled on this islet where he eventually died, while his accomplice committed suicide by throwing himself into the sea.
