François Mitterrand cancelled a motorway interchange

The A 14 motorway crosses the entire commune of Saint-Germain-en-Laye through an underground tunnel located beneath the forest north of the town. This specific route is explained by the decision of François Mitterrand to cancel the construction of an interchange that was initially planned in the heart of the forest. The nearest access is now located one kilometer to the west, at the Chambourcy interchange.
