The coat of arms of Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon pays tribute to pit sawyers

The coat of arms of the commune of Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon incorporates an azure piece with saw teeth. This singular motif was adopted on 31 mars 1993 to refer to Saint Cyr. This Christian saint is indeed the patron of pit sawyers in certain regions.
