The origin of the Sailor Moon uniform

Sailor Moon owes her famous schoolgirl uniform to a suggestion from her editor Fumio Osano. He advised the creator Naoko Takeuchi to dress her character in a sailor fuku, the traditional uniform of Japanese schoolgirls. This idea first gave birth to the character of Sailor V before the creation of the complete team of warriors.
