The statue of Nicolas Dalayrac was saved thanks to a mold
The bronze statue of Nicolas Dalayrac, inaugurated in 1888 in Muret, was dismantled in 1942 to be sent to the foundry on the orders of the occupier. As the inhabitants refused to carry out this task, foreign workers had to take care of it. A stone replica was inaugurated in 1949 thanks to a plaster mold that the Toulouse founder had been able to preserve before the destruction of the original.
