The Grand Empire had 70 million inhabitants in 1812

The Grand Empire of Napoleon I reached its territorial peak at the beginning of the year 1812. It then included 134 departments stretching from Hamburg to Rome and Barcelona. This vast territorial domination brought together 70 million inhabitants, whereas the France of 1793 only housed 30 million.
