A royalist plot eliminates its own actors and a prince

Royalist agents who landed clandestinely in France attempted to overthrow Bonaparte in 1803 before being arrested. Pichegru was found strangled in his cell and Georges Cadoudal was sentenced to death then executed. This affair also allowed the First Consul to abduct and summarily execute the Duke of Enghien at Vincennes.
