An accident prevents Just Fontaine from attending the Africa Cup of Nations

Just Fontaine, the coach of the Morocco national football team, was the victim of a road accident near Meknes from 1979 to 1981. A few days before the 1980 competition, this accident forced him to give up his position to Mohamed Jabrane and Hamadi Hamidouch. The team still managed to secure third place during the 1980 AFCON in Nigeria without him.
