The skyscraper race in Paris

The Tour Montparnasse reached 210 meters since 1973 as the tallest building in Paris and France. This record was broken in 2011 by the Tour First, raised to 231 meters in the La Défense district in Courbevoie. Parisian urban planning rules strictly limit the height of new buildings in the center, while skyscrapers on the outskirts now approach 250 meters.
