Jean-Luc Mélenchon leaves Freemasonry

Jean-Luc Mélenchon is a French political figure who belonged to the Grand Orient de France from 1983. He distanced himself from the organization over the decades, notably due to ideological disagreements and internal procedures. He finally left his Masonic lodge for good in the spring of 2020 following positions taken criticizing the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France.
