A Belgian prince testifies in court for the first time

Prince Laurent is the first member of the Belgian royal family to be heard by a court during a trial. This historic hearing took place on January 9, 2007, at the Hasselt criminal court thanks to a royal decree issued by the government. His appearance followed a case of embezzlement by Navy officers that was used to furnish his own Villa Clémentine.
