A unique road bridge over 115 kilometers of the Elbe

The Dömitz road bridge is a remarkable bridge located on the Bundesstraße 191. Built to connect Lower Saxony to Mecklenburg, it was opened to traffic in 1936. It remains the only road crossing point on a 115 km stretch separating Wittenberge from Lauenburg, with the rest of the traffic being handled by ferries.
