The last crossing of the Elbe on foot

The Elbe freezes entirely only during very harsh winters, sometimes allowing it to be crossed on foot. The last time this happened in Dresden dates back to the year 1963, from January 21 to March 6. The thickness of the ice can reach 80 cm during these episodes of extreme cold.
