Maurice Yaméogo is the political leader who orchestrated his country's withdrawal from the Mali Federation. He hastily gathered forty deputies on February 28 to order them to validate a constitutional project under threat of dissolving the Assembly. As soon as the text was voted on for fear of losing their seats, he announced the dissolution of the Chamber at the end of the session.
