Lightning is at the origin of Maurice Yaméogo's baptism

Maurice Yaméogo is a former politician whose Christian baptism followed a dramatic event. On July 28, 1929, while he was not of the required age for this sacrament, he was struck by lightning before being emergency baptized by Reverend Father Van der Shaegue. This accident marked the beginning of his religious vocation, although he eventually left the seminary in 1939.
