A magistrate was an enemy of Pierre de Fermat

Gaspard de Fieubet was a French magistrate and the president of the parliament of Toulouse from 1653 to 1686. He served as an instrument of the policy of Louis XIV in the South and was the instigator of the Salle des Illustres of the Capitole de Toulouse. He happened to be a supporter of the scholar Emmanuel Maignan but a sworn enemy of the famous Pierre de Fermat.
