The explosive departure of Fiat's chief designer

Giulio Cesare Cappa was the director of the Special Studies Section at Fiat. He wished to modernize engine architectures to innovate, which clashed with the conservative vision of management favoring proven technologies. After several successive disagreements over industrial strategy and the rejection of his technical visions, he left the company for good on February 6, 1924.
