The Interceltic Festival of Lorient was launched from space

The Interceltic Festival of Lorient is a Breton cultural event whose 2001 edition launch was performed by astronauts from the International Space Station. This live broadcast took place following contacts established during the mission carried out in 1997 by Jean-Loup Chrétien on the Mir station. This unusual space connection illustrates the strong media expansion of the event during the 1990s and 2000s.
