The Interceltic Festival of Lorient almost settled in Nantes

The international bagpipe festival of Brest had to move because of a conflict between the city hall and the organizing association, the Bodadeg ar Sonerion. The cities of Nantes and Saint-Malo declared themselves interested in hosting it, but officials from Lorient intervened to establish it in their city. After a test edition conducted in 1970 under the name of the Fête des Ports, the municipality of Lorient validated the permanent hosting of the event.
