Almost all French colonial doctors passed through Marseille

The École du Pharo is a French military school established in Marseille and specialized in tropical medicine. It operated from 1905 to 2013 to train all the health professionals sent to the colonial empire and then to cooperation territories. This centenary institution was an essential cog in overseas health policy before closing its doors on June 30, 2013.
