ECM record label albums do not feature artist photographs

The music label ECM stands out for its album covers with minimalist and clean graphic design. This visual choice, innovative for the 1970s, consists of banning the traditional photograph of the artist on the cover. Barbara Wojirsch and Dieter Rehm forged this visual identity for over twenty years from the very beginning of the record label.
