A failed German airborne operation on the High Fens

Operation Stösser was a German army attempt to stop American reinforcements during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. Troops were parachuted onto the High Fens in order to block road axes towards Elsenborn and Butgenbach. This strategic intervention ended in a total failure against Allied forces.
