A company bought for one symbolic franc

In 1986, François Pinault bought the wood panel manufacturer Isoroy for one symbolic franc. He injected hundreds of millions into the company while cutting a quarter of the jobs before parting with it in 1992. This operation allowed him to benefit from millions in public subsidies to turn the company around.
