Doctor Doom forged himself a face of glowing metal

Doctor Doom is a fictional character whose face was disfigured by the explosion of a machine he had designed. After learning sorcery from Tibetan monks, he forged himself an armor that he never took off again. He put on his mask while it was still red and barely out of the fire, marking the death of his former human identity.
