An Italian actor exfiltrated a militant to Corsica in 1981

Gian Maria Volonté was a committed actor and a member of the Italian Communist Party. In 1981, he helped his friend Oreste Scalzone, who was targeted by an arrest warrant as part of the April 7 trial, to flee Italy. He escorted him clandestinely aboard his own boat to Corsica, allowing the latter to subsequently find refuge.
