An outdoor world record awaited since 1994

Armand Duplantis is a pole vaulter who cleared a bar at 6.21 m in the final of the world championships in Eugene, on July 24, 2022. Already assured of his gold medal, he succeeded in this feat on his second attempt to improve his own record by one centimeter. He thus became the first athlete to accomplish such a feat outdoors since the performance of Sergueï Bubka in 1994.
