Shakira's first song is dedicated to her father

Shakira is a Colombian singer who started writing songs at the age of eight. Her very first composition, titled Tus gafas oscuras, was a poem dedicated to her father who wore big sunglasses to hide his grief following the loss of a child in a motorcycle accident. This early creation marked the beginning of her career, which led her to sign her first contract with Sony Music in 1990.
