A historic female expedition to Manaslu

Manaslu is a Himalayan mountain of 8,163 meters considered one of the most dangerous peaks. In 1974, an exclusively female expedition achieved the very first female ascent of a peak over 8,000 meters there. This historic performance is among the nine routes opened on this mountain since the first successful ascent by the Japanese in 1956.
