The first Volapük congress was held in German

Volapük is a constructed language whose first international congress was held on August 26 and 27, 1884, in Friedrichshafen. This gathering brought together an almost exclusively German-speaking audience that was very new to this language. Consequently, the official proceedings of this congress were conducted in German and not in Volapük.
