An Action directe hideout was located in a village

Villeloin-Coulangé is a commune that sheltered one of the hideouts of the terrorist group Action directe in the 1980s. This hiding place was unmasked following the discovery of a rail ticket in the belongings of Georges Cipriani during his arrest in 1987 in the Loiret. The terrorists Joëlle Aubron and Georges Cipriani spent many weekends there since October 1985 while growing tomatoes.
