Vivaldi was a priest nicknamed the Red Priest

Antonio Vivaldi was a violinist, composer, and priest of the Catholic Church. His red hair earned him the nickname il Prete rosso, which means the Red Priest. This nickname was perhaps even better known in Venice than his real name, according to the writings of Goldoni.
