Muhammad saved a Virgin and Child icon

The Virgin and Child of the Kaaba is a painting that Muhammad preserved during the conquest of Mecca. In 630, he ordered the sanctuary to be cleared of all idols and pagan decorations, but he protected this icon with his hand by forbidding its destruction. The historian al-Azraqī reported this singular episode, alongside other accounts regarding the safeguarding of the horns of the ram of Abraham.
